Brief biography
Verna Howell was born Verna E. Haensgen to John and Kathryn Haensgen in New Holstein, Wisconsin, on June 28, 1919. She was one of four daughters.
She married Leigh Howell in Santa Barbara, California, on October 8, 1966. Together they opened the Dansk Glas Huset in Solvang, California, in July 1967. They demonstrated to tourists for several months, before divorcing in November 1967.
Howell died in Santa Barbara, California, on February 2, 2012.
